Better Grades With Speed Reading

December 29th, 2009

People sometimes get frustrated because they fall behind when reading and learning due to the huge amounts of reading material they must absorb for school or work. So many books are being written worldwide, that readers sometimes have difficulty keeping up with the production of fiction and non-fiction works. It can be really amazing trying to keep up with it all ” dont you think.

In the speedily changing and highly competitive business world, with new products and services, and new upgrades introduced every week, speed reading really comes in handy. Most corporate millionaires now read two or three business related books every week. That’s a lot of work for those unfortunates who dont have speed reading abilities.

SPEED READING enables people to absorb up to twice or three times what they normally read in the same time.

Reading researchers in the past determined that the brain is capable of comprehending and cataloging from 10,000 to 50,000 units of information every minute. The length of a unit is about one word. The body’s five senses are receptors for information, which it transfers to the subconscious mind to be recorded for posterity. When the conscious mind needs information, it is recalled from the subconscious. Then it surfaces the necessary data for processing and use, much like a computer.

An interactivity exists between the brain, which well just imagine that the computer CPU, and the mind which consists of thoughts and memories. All data gets processed in such a way that we can learn it.

The data that we receive, process and evaluate comes from our five physical senses. With that data, our mind makes decisions, choices and judgments. We learn through our five senses (i.e. sight, smell, hearing, touch, taste), which are already pre-programmed to respond automatically.

A good example of pre-programmed response: Consider the example of the teen boy who smells pizza and what his reaction is. It is similar to Pavlov’s dog, because his senses send a message to the brain in the form of a brain-work.

The perception of feeling our favorite food is a mental exercise, compared to the reaction of swallowing which is physical. Therefore, brain and mind is where the action is and the body is where the reaction is.

Learning this method of speed reading will encourage the use of three of the five senses. That is a method that will strongly influence your mind to remember, recall and understand; beyond that, well teach you Methods for becoming a better and more efficient reader.

Follow the instructions and you will turn into a speed reader who loves to read and improve the quality of his or her own life. We expect great, positive successes from you with great improvements in many areas of your life.

Statistics: The average American high school graduate (I know this sounds strange, but many are graduating without the ability to read at an eighth grade level), reads at about 200 words per minute. A college student reads 20% faster at 300 words per minute. It does not matter what your baseline or starting reading speed is, your potential reading speed after using these techniques will be faster and your potential is truly unlimited. This is because scientists who have researched the human brain/mind agree that our potential is unlimited. Double-triple-quadruple your reading speed, theres no limit.

You can expect to learn how to achieve your greatest potentials as a reader, business person, student, etc. This is because you’re becoming an avid speed reader and a complete success in life.

Be Dynamic Through Speed Reading will help you become totally unlimited in your power and ability to do, be, and have all that you desire in life, whether its great grades or financial success. Dr. Jay Polmar is the Master of the art of speed learning, accelerated learning and speed reading and has helped over 100,000 students worldwide become perfect learning machines.

First day With The Dynamics Of Speed Reading

December 23rd, 2009

The Be Dynamic Through Speed Reading method, by Dr. Jay Polmar, is designed for those who read large volumes of printed material. Sometimes they get frustrated when they can’t keep up with all the intriguing literature that is released. Authors around the world produce printed data and fiction, at a rate so phenomenal, that even the most avid of readers struggle to keep up. With our DYNAMIC SPEED READING method, you’ll easily be able to read twice to three times the amount you now read in the same time.

The human brain/mind is capable of comprehending and cataloging from 10,000 to 50,000 units of information per minute (one unit being equal to one word) and this is based upon old statistics. Based on new technology in education and strides in self-development, your brain/mind is capable of much more.

The human body is a vehicle that records various senses and transfers them to our brain/mind. The brain/mind acts like a computer. Perhaps the brain/mind is the body’s operational computer to make easier for us to learn. We learn through information (data) that is transmitted in many ways. We receive data through our five physical senses, and our brain/mind makes decisions, choices and judgments from those factors.

Our limitations in reading were programmed during childhood when we were first taught to read. Yet, brain/mind researchers have shown that through DYNAMIC SPEED READING method, thousands have broken that pattern and increased speeds dramatically.

This course teaches techniques for becoming Dynamic. We expect you, minimally, to become a speed reader who likes to read and improve the quality of your life. Maximally, we expect great, positive successes from our students. A beginning average reading speed for the average American high school graduate is about 250 words per minute. Those from the south read somewhat slower because of their drawl. Those who stutter also read slower. An average college student reads approximately 300 w.p.m.

Please take note: Recent studies have indicated that the English reading rate has dropped due to poor education in the past decade. The reduction of reading speed is astounding averaging 35% poor reading rates in the US. Be Dynamic undoes the damage of poor education system and was developed by Dr. Jay Polmar, who studied in the US when education mean something special and reading was king.

Princess Video – 3 Reasons Why Tinkerbell Is The Best Movie For Kids

November 11th, 2009

This article will discuss 3 reasons why Tinkerbell is the best movie for kids. This Disney princess video, with Tinkerbell as the key character, offers an amusing yet very important message to its viewers, young or old.

1. Pleasurable: Children movies come in many different sizes and styles, often times they are corny and overly sweet and are irritating to watch once let alone repeatedly. Tinkerbell is neither of these and is amusing and pleasurable for all ages, even adults to watch over and over again. It is one of the few recent Disney movies that really should have made it to theaters but did not and was missed by many.

Sparks Imagination: Since Tinkerbell is a favorite princess among girls, the debate about whether or not she is really a princess aside, seeing the magical world she lives in come alive is very exhilarating to young children. Though Tinkerbell did not speak in the widely known Peter Pan story, she not only has a voice in this movie but plays a very important part in the land of the fairies.

Homeschooling and the Family

November 4th, 2009

If a survey by the National Center For Education Statistics is to be believed, roughly 1.1 million children underwent home schooling in 2005 alone. That’s a lot of children. Not so long ago, homeschooling used to be a radical statement – something like a declaration of independence.

It was the conservative Christians who pushed for homeschooling in the 1980’s and legalized it in every State. But nowadays the typical homeschooling pupil is not religiously motivated.

Later surveys show that parents are really fed up with the public school system where much of the learning is superficial and compulsory. They are also concerned about the negative environment in school, which ranges from drugs and abuse to negative pressure from their peers.

Because of this, we have a surprising mix of people who make up the homeschooling world of today. They cut across all religious creeds and all regional borders. Their main aim is providing meaningful and productive learning through a method that strengthens the bond between the various members of the family.

All these families have one major thing in common – a long enduring commitment to the sanctity of childhood. The children of these families are accorded a primary position. Many believe, and, I think, rightly so, that home schooling allows parents to bring up their children in a more natural and caring environment.

Public schools can make a child anxious, subservient and downright mean. Children who receive their education at home are protected from these damaging, negative influences until they attain an age where they can withstand them.

Home-schooling draws the whole family into the quasi religious task of teaching. Everyone has a role to play. Both the parents together form a bond with the children. Any experience can be turned into an learning experience. Both the parents are aware of exactly what is going on in their child’s head.

Parents also have a greater control over the kind of religious and moral values that the child is learning. Even watching a movie together can become an educational experience. Trips to the libraries, zoos, museums and other places become educational experiences as well as recreational ones.

A home-schooling family is primarily dependent on the income of one earning member. That means that often spending has to be curtailed and proper planning of expenditure is necessary. This helps to bring the family members together and everybody gets involved in the process of not spending money.

Merely having a parent at home to supervise, to nurture and to care for the children brings with it a great deal of love and caring. Even the husband takes part and there is just no room for complacency.

Yes, problems still do crop up, and there will be a lot of misgivings in your mind, but when you know that your kids can always count on you, and your kids know it too, then homeschooling becomes a very rewarding experience.

Learning the Mechanics of Speed Reading

October 29th, 2009

The mind is a source of immeasurable power, and we only use a tiny portion of it. In the book, “Speed Reading in only One Hour” I show you how to tap some of that unused power and how to use it for your own improved grades in high school, college, and great successes life.

Your brain can understand from 10,000 to 50,000 bits of data per minute; one bit equates to one word. Although this information comes from old statistics (1980’s),. based on recently developed speed reading technology, and strides in various types of learning technology, you can achieve phenomenal reading speeds.

In the US the average HS grad, when tested, reads about 250 words per minute. The average US college student reads at an average of about 300 words per minute. But, no matter what your starting reading speed when you are tested, don’t worry, it is only the beginning. Can you imagine what an advantage you will have to be able to read over 100% faster than you had before? 200% 300% — The possibilities are limitless.

We receive information through our five physical senses, (touching, tasting, hearing, smelling, and seeing) and through those senses we make decisions. We make choices and judgments from various factors that the physical senses bring into play. The five physical senses (sight, smell, hearing, taste, touch) are preprogrammed for automatic response.

We learn, not only from physical senses, but through various forms of thought. Most thought is conscious in nature. Senses however work automatically. An example of an automatic reaction might be: when a hungry teenager smells pizza, he or she begins salivating. What’s taking place is that the sense of smell (called olfactory senses) has automatically delivered a thought, “PIZZA”, to the brain and mind. The thought may be unconscious.

Sensing food is a physical sensation through smell. It is a mental sensation (unconsciously or consciously) through thought. And lastly there is a physical sensation through eating, swallowing, and smiling. To summarize the PIZZA adventure: Brain and mind is where the “action” is taking place. Body is where the “reaction” is taking place.

Your brain and the mind has awesome untapped potential; I’ll teach you how to tap into that potential by using the course Speed Reading in One Hour, available at speedread.org . I’ll show you how you can be a total success in your college life and beyond.
